After a busy April, May saw fewer new planning applications than usual, although several significant decisions were made that will impact development within our community. This month’s newsletter highlights those significant decisions and outlines the more noteworthy applications made in the Canford Cliffs ward. The decisions reflect the ongoing backlog of applications BCP are working to clear. Even though it proposed to site-split within the Branksome Park and Chine Gardens Conservation Area, one of the significant refusals (APP/23/00617/P) has been with the council for almost a year. Another application, (APP/23/01286/F), which has been temporarily granted, is for extended opening hours at Rockwater. It is unusual for permission to be granted temporarily, but we assume this allows the council to monitor the impact of the operating hours before assessing a repeat application next year!
