At the Place Overview & Scrutiny Committee meeting on 19 July 2017, the Chairman (Conservative) used his casting vote to vote against the reopening of the Baiter Park toilets. It was a lively meeting and around 100 residents were in attendance.
Two members of the ruling (Conservative) party had the courage to vote in favour of the re-opening. I believe that it’s good to see Members, occasionally, voting with integrity for the right thing and not the party line.
